• I grew up in this system, it made me, thankfully I came out with everything alright, but I know way to many people who didnt. The worst part of this whole story is the fact that we told our parents, we told our teachers, we told our guidance counselors, we told damn near anyone we could at 10-12 years old what was going on, we were not oblivious or stupid. • When it comes to things they've evolved to understand, they can be as smart as anyone. We forget we force dogs to live in our strange world. They're bad at being people- they don't understand what a car is, or a tv, or a phone. But something like a fire threatening the pack is something dogs have always faced- that's dog world, where their abilities really shine. This really goes for any animal- fish are great at being fish, squirrels are great at being squirrels etc. Animals are only dumb out of context- if a squirrel saw me trying to climb a tree or carry nuts I'd look pretty damn dumb myself.
• Our Dalmatian did this when I was in middle school for the neighbors house. We had trained him not to bark, but one night he just went NUTS howling at the front door. We checked out front to see what was happening and could see smoke rising from the home across the street. My dad ran over and was able to wake up the whole house before the fire did much harm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prouder dog than Cinder was that night as we all stood outside watching the fire trucks. I miss that good boy.

• As a Christian, I can't think of anything less Christian or more evil than the ignoring, covering up, or participation of abuse, especially against children, inside the Church. So this is good. There needs to be accountability. The Church is supposed to be a place these people can go to find comfort and support. Christians SHOULD be their own greatest watchdogs, but unfortunately it's not really the case.

• This is #RazanNajjar, who came to the Gaza border last week to "serve as a medic" & unfortunately lost her life there. But, do medics participate in riots & say thay are human shields for terrorists? Hamas used her as a human shield for its terrorists who stormed our border.
• Mandatory reminder that Israel hires people to post on social media. They might try to downplay, misdirect, and deflect any criticism of Israel. They might change the subject or start flame wars. They might use the "forum slide" technique, etc.
• If you're interested in reading more about the origins and want a relatively unbiased view I recommend A History of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict by Mark Tessler. It's very, very long and quite complicated but it completely illustrates the situation. Also what I found is that going in most people have a bias towards one side or another (as I did) but once you learn more about it you begin to see it from both sides and in the end I found rather than being angry at the situation like most people, I was just sad about the way people lived and the fact the conflict continued and that there is really no solution at this point.

• A lot of what was stolen was unclassified (maybe For Official Use Only), but put together could become classified at a higher level. Additionally, there is an airgap between unclassified and classified networks. Most of the time when these reports break, it was someone physically stealing the data, be it digitally (jump drive or burning a disc) or the old fashioned ways of transcribing by hand or taking photos. As far as who is doing the actual stealing, it could be folks being blackmailed, disgruntled folks, or straight up spies (either for a foreign state, or as corporate espionage).
