Italy extends lockdown, Mafia distributes food

Italy initially quarantined nearly 16 million people in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Around the same time, Italy banned public funerals a month ago in order to slow the spread of the virus.
The Italian mafia is gaining popularity by distributing food to the poor. This could be a sign of rising unrest in the country, which could lead to protests or worse.
But there are signs of hope. Healthy volunteers are ready to begin testing a COVID vaccine funded by Bill Gates. It is the second such vaccine trial funded by Gates.
Bill Gates’s foundation has been pouring billions of dollars into factories for producing a COVID vaccine. There are currently seven promising vaccines, but it is likely that only two will make the final cut.
